ANZECC and EPHC

This strategy aims to ensure that all firewood collection, including commercial cutting, is ecologically sustainable and not a major cause of loss and degradation of remnant and woodland ecosystems or the habitats of threatened species.  It does not does not seek to stop firewood collection, rather it seeks to reduce the impact in areas of concern and to ensure that firewood is collected from sustainable sources over the long term.

These Guidelines cover interactions between people and cetaceans in the wild during recreational observation activities and have two main aims:

• to minimise harmful impacts on cetacean populations by ensuring that the normal patterns of daily and seasonal activity of whales and dolphins are maintained in the short and long-term; and
• to ensure people have the best opportunity to enjoy and learn about the animals through observation that is successful for people and cetaceans alike.

This Strategic Plan of Action (the Plan) is one of a suite of documents developed cooperatively by the Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC) Task Force on Marine Protected Areas to assist and promote the development of the National Representative System of Marine Protected Areas (NRSMPA).

This Plan sets out actions to achieve the goals of the NRSMPA. It also provides a guide to understanding the NRSMPA by defining it in the context of the array of existing mechanisms and agreements that promote the conservation of Australia’s marine biodiversity.

This document establishes a framework for the increased adoption of cleaner production in Australia, by examining the barriers to its uptake, and how to overcome them.

This Strategy has been developed jointly by the Commonwealth, States and Territories through the Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC). It aims to provide a national framework for the conservation of koalas.

The Agriculture and Resource Management Council of Australia and New Zealand (ARMCANZ) and Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC) have jointly developed a set of National Principles for the Provision of Water for Ecosystems.

The purpose of these National Principles is to provide policy direction on how the specific issue of water for the environment should be dealt with in the context of general water allocation decisions. These Principles, in themselves, are not a framework for water allocation. They are one input to a much broader process that will consider all users in the mechanism of water allocation.
